HAKONE ・ GORA | A-FRAME PRIVATE VILLA
A day you'll still remember, ten years on.

The whole triangular house — yours alone.

Even the hours with nothing planned are yours. A triangular A-frame house, designed by an architect who specialises in A-frames — one group a day, entirely private. From arrival to checkout, the only people under this roof are you. Beyond the floor-to-ceiling glass, nothing but the green of Gora.

CONCEPT
We even furnish the empty hours.

To make sure you remember that one day, this house takes on even the empty hours. Hakone summers bring fog off Lake Ashi, and some days Mt. Fuji simply hides — you travel all this way, and never see it. Aimless afternoons happen on any trip. That's why this house has light that moves down the ceiling from morning to dusk, a semi-open-air private bath whose window opens and can project Mt. Fuji and more, and an indoor slide to slide down again and again. The unhurried hours are the ones that last the longest. And so, ten years on, you'll still remember.

A-frame Hakone Gora exterior — the whole house, one group a day
That quiet, and that cleanliness, come from a place where you meet no one.

From check-in to farewell,
you meet no one.

One group a day, the whole house. No front desk, no other guests. The door has a keypad. From arrival to checkout, you never once come face to face with anyone. No eyes on you, no clock to watch — the private bath, whenever you like.

※ It is a private bath, not a hot spring.

This "meeting no one" means one thing for a couple's anniversary, and another as an ordinary day for a family.
Some nights are quiet and just for two; some afternoons overflow with children's voices. The whole private house takes on either kind of day.
A-frame Hakone Gora — the private bath projecting Mt. Fuji, for an anniversary
── FOR ANNIVERSARIES & PROPOSALS

Lower the lights,
and toast with two voices.

The only voices are yours. Dim the lights, and that bath becomes a stage for the two of you. Choose Mt. Fuji from the visuals on the water, and raise a glass. Flowers and a cake can be arranged in advance by request (delivery is arranged; you receive and set them up yourselves). Room only, so the evening is entirely your own.

A night no one else can see, just for the two of you.
A quiet night, a lively afternoon — both arrive at the same place: one shared table.
A-frame Hakone Gora — indoor slide and wooden toys for children
── WITH FAMILY

For loud afternoons,
another place to play.

Inside the high-ceilinged room, a slide and toys — built to the same angle standard as Japan's public playgrounds, so even little ones can play. Loud voices and running feet, no need to hold back. Just an ordinary day, the same as at home. When you can't play outside, there's still somewhere to be. That bath can show children's visuals too. Warm water for bottles and baby food, freely. Children 2 and under stay free.

An afternoon the children will remember when they're grown.
A-frame Hakone Gora — kitchen and dining, for self-catering

Time around the table,
part of the same day.

A kitchen and tableware are here, so you can cook. Bring the food you bought on the way, and set your usual table in this house. Nothing special — and yet, in a house that takes on even the empty hours, it's that ordinariness that stays with you most. Gora quiets down early: the cable car runs until about 5 PM, and restaurants close early, so it's best to shop and eat on the way in or down in the valley. A list of shops to stop at before you arrive is shared after booking.

ACCESS
Once you arrive, you never leave this house.

Two minutes on foot from Naka-Gora Station — though it's uphill to the house, so with large luggage a car to the free parking out front is easier. Once you're here, there's no need to go anywhere else. From Shinjuku, the Odakyu Romancecar reaches Hakone-Yumoto in about 85 minutes (from Tokyo, change at Hakone-Yumoto), then the mountain railway and cable car to Naka-Gora. Illustrated door-to-door directions are sent before arrival.
